I have an idea for a piece of jewelry, what do I need to do to make sure no one takes my idea?

I have an idea for a necklace and bracelet set that I think I could start selling enough of to make a business out of it, however, I am worried that someone may take my ideas and they take the credit for it. In particular, there are a couple of people I want to ask to make me a custom silver piece to incorporate into the design. I don’t want to tell them what I want made, they tell me they can’t help me, and then they run off with my idea. What can I do to legally prove this is MY idea? Like copyrighting or patenting, maybe? I prefer it to be as inexpensive as possible, as I have already spent alot of money trying to get this started. Thanks so much!
If I do in fact need to copyright or patent my idea, how do I go about doing that, please ?

Take a picture of it , type a description, photocopy the pic and text and have it notarized. I’m not sure how much protection it gives you but it’s cheap and quick.
