What is the best laptop to own with a budget of $1500 and I need a good battery?

What do you think is the best laptop to own for Under $1500? I am looking for something that is great on power and has a good speed (Like a Core 2 Duo). It has to be under $1500. The only ones I have found are the HP with a 12 Cell Battery. Are they any good or is there something better? I travel a lot and I hate having a lot of cable all the time so I am looking for something to be able to multi-task but has great battery life. Also, I prefer a laptop that is more for the home user and not the HP Bussiness laptop.
I would also like to know how long does the battery last on average.

check the DELL E1505 which is less expensive and you can customize all the configuration you need that makes it easy to see what you need and what not.
